2 Kings 12

1. Corruption had always been an issue with all humans, whether God’s servants or ordinary men.
2. Accountability had always been an issue in the tabernacle, nowadays church, since premodern times.
3. 2 Kings 12 recorded a story of how offerings were collected for the repair of the temple, but the priest diverted the money to themselves.
4. However, with stronger checks and balances by ensuring the priest did not have access to the offerings, the money was eventually raised, and the temple was repaired.
