Vanities of Life
In this chapter, King Solomon talks about the different vanities he had indulged in.
- He built several houses – vs. 4, I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards:
- He planted several vineyards.
- He constructed several swimming pools – vs. 6, I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees:

- He had several servants.
- He had many cattle.
- He gathered much silver and gold.
- He possessed anything that his eyes desired.
- At the end of the day, Solomon said he was not satisfied, and everything he had was vain.
- The message Solomon is passing is self-control, as a man can never be satisfied with material acquisition.
