After Nehemiah reconstructed the walls of Jerusalem, there were few residents in the city because the houses still needed to be rebuilt.

1. Of course, the solution to this challenge is to mobilise people to come and rebuild their houses, to live in Jerusalem.
2. Nehemiah confessed that the wisdom on the next step was given by God.

Power of divine guidance

1. In his own words, God put it into his heart to convene a meeting of all the rulers and the people of Israel, so that they could know their families.
2. In the process of this activity, they formed a register that has all the names of the family of Israel.
3. It was this register they used to trace all the citizens and bring them back to their localities.
4. Without this register, it would have been difficult to know who was who and to know the ancestors of the people of Israel.
