Jesus brought Mercy

Read Numbers 15

1. The God of the Old Testament is legalistic.
2. The God of the Old Testament sticks to the rules.
3. The God of the Old Testament decrees death for offenders.
4. Under the Mosaic laws, the punishment for breaking the sabbath was death by stoning.
5. In Numbers 15:36, a man was actually stoned to death for gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.
6. But Jesus brought Mercy, which overrides judgment.
7. Jesus brought a second chance for repentance.
8. May we not take the grace of Jesus for granted.
