Genesis 25 vs.32 – And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?
- Esau did not have self control over hunger and he lost his birthright.
- Samson did not have self control over women and he lost his life. Judges 16 vs.19
- Moses did not have self control over anger, and he failed to get to the Promised Land. Numbers 20 vs.10, Deut. 34 vs.4
- Saul did not have self control over impatience and he was rejected by God. 1 Samuel 13 vs. 9.
- Achan did not have self control over …. And he and his household were stoned to death.. Joshua 7 vs. 1 and 25.
- The sons of Eli, Hophi and Phinehas did not have self control over food and women and God killed them. 1 Samuel 2 vs.12, 1 Samuel 3 vs.13.
- Korah and company did not have self control over ambition and God caused the earth to open and swallow them. Numbers 16 vs.11 and vs.32.
- The Spies of Israel did not have self control over fear, and they and the whole generation of Israel nation (except Caleb and Joshua) perished in the wilderness. Numbers 13 vs.1,32 Numbers 4 vs. 32
- Reuben did not have self control over his sexual appetite; he slept with his father’s wives, and was cursed. Genesis 49 vs.4
Prayers
- Holy Spirit, break me and remould me in Jesus name.
- Fire of God; kill my flesh in Jesus name.
- Word of God, afflict my heart in Jesus name.
