The word of God reveals that it was inside such a pit, that Joseph brothers threw him in a bid to get rid of him. Let us read Genesis 37 vs. 23-26:
23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colors that was on him; 24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.
25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmaelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt. 26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
Dakes Bible , it his commentary on this passage says the Hebrew word for a pit is’bor’, and describes a pit as: ‘ a dry cistern, There are numerous pits or cisterns still to be found in Palestine. They were often hewn out of solid rock, being narrower at the mouth than at the bottom. It would be almost impossible to get out of the pit unaided. Some were even used as dungeons for prisoners.’
What the spirit of God revealed in the dream fits perfectly into this description. Obviously what I saw was like the pit that Joseph was thrown into by his brothers.
Today, I pray that the Lord of Joseph shall frustrate evil conspiracy to throw you into the pit darkness in Jesus name
The story of Joseph sheds more powerful understanding on the nature of pits of darkness. Joseph was thrown into this pt so tat he would die inside. There was not way Joseph would have come out of this pit, if his brothers did not have a change of mind. He had to be drawn out from the pit, when his brother decided to sell him to the Isheemiltes.
Psalm 28 vs. 1
Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock, be not silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit
Zechariah 9 vs. 11
As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant, I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein there is not water. Turn you to the strongholds, ye prisoners of hope: even today, I declare I will render double unto thee
Several other issues are obvious from our reading of Genesis 37 vs. 23-26, Psalm 28 vs. 1, and Zechariah 9 vs. 11
1. The pit of life is a prison.
2. Anyone that is thrown into this pit, has been sentenced to death
3. It is physically impossible to come out of this pit.
4. If Joseph a righteous person could be thrown into such a pit, Christians can also be thrown into such pits.
5. The truth is that many non Christians and Christians have been spiritually imprisoned and are prisoners of powers of darkness
6. However, the Bible describes Christians in such pits are prisoners of hope
7. Only the blood of the covenant, the blood of Jesus can deliver any one from such pits of darkness
8. This means unless you are truly a Christian, there is not way you can be delivered from Jesus Christ came to deliver people from various pits of like, and if you believe in him, though you may be imprisoned in such a pit now, there is hope of deliverance for you
9. However, your deliverance is not automatic, as the Psalmist said, even if you as a Christian discover you life has been caged, you have to cry unto God to provoke his attention
10. Finally, when God delivers, he will give you double for all you have lost. Just as Joseph was promoted from prison to palace, you shall be promoted and magnified in Jesus name
Even today, I declare I will render double unto thee, -Zechariah 9 vs. 11

what can i pray.. so I can have prosperity and divine favour in my life.. I just want God to deliver me.. from all this.. they are behind the reason that my marriage is late.. and my blessings don’t come my way.. and everytime a door opens.. it shuts real hard in my face..
this is goin on for over 20 years.. and i’m not even 25 at the moment..
I really want God to deliver me.. so that what ever I do i’ll flourish and make progress in my life.. because.. i’m tired of the fact that i’m standing still.. and that all my former friends and pastors.. my family and agents human and spiritual would just leave me alone..
please.. I really need deliverance in my life…
