Deliverance sermons: Deliverance from the pits of darkness

Ezekiel 8 vs. 8

I like to specially appeal to any one reading or hearing this message to read it seriously, study it carefully, meditate on it diligently, and with understanding.

This is because by the grace of God, I am not writing it by flesh or blood but by the spirit of God. By the grace of God, this message is for five categories of people.A couple of days ago, the spirit of God took me in the version of Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 8 vs. 8 to behold the abominations that are committed in the coven by the powers of darkness. I saw myself being led in a dream into a pit.

1. This message is for people who noticed that they seem to be struggling against a force and that no matter how hard they try or how good their efforts, they find it difficult to succeed.
2. This message is for anyone experiencing stagnancy for a long time and finds it difficult to go forward in life
3. The message is also for those who have noticed that they have been restricted and limited in achievement
4. The message is for any one in any uncomfortable situation, but has for it difficult for years to change or move out of that situation.

5. In summary, this message is for all those who’s their glories have been caged or imprisoned.

The entrance of the pit was very narrow and could not possibly take two people at the same time.

There are stairs down the pit, and you can only descend into the pit with the aid of a stair case.
I noticed that as we went inside through the tunnel down earth, I could not go in by my self, and my spiritual guide lowered me inside and came down to join me. There are various levels you have to reach before reaching the basement, and to reach each level, we used the same technique of using a stair case to descend down wards.

Soon, we reached a place spacious place underground.

Here I saw some people behind what looked like mortal guns releasing bullets from the basement to the surface of the earth.

As I stood there wondering where I was and watching what was going on, a man accosted me and said: ‘what are you going here man of God? Have you also been captured into the pit ’? Before I could make a response, my guide answered and said: ‘No we cannot not be captured, we are here to see the secrets of the powers of darkness!’

Immediately, I woke up from my sleep, and realised I was really being shown a vision. As I meditated, I tried to recollect several things from the incident.

1. First, this pit that I have just visited is underground,, below the surface of the earth
2. The pit is hidden and ordinarily people do not know of its existence.
3. The entrance to the pit is very narrow, and you cannot enter it un aided
4. People descend into the pit of life through steps.
5. The pit is deep, very deep under the surface of the earth
6. The pit is managed by powers of darkness
7. Now – the most important discovery- Inside this man hole , this deep pit, persons are held captive and from what I saw ,it is physically impossible for a captured person to escape back to earth.

As I continued meditating on this interesting discovery, I decided to study the bible to find one if there is a spiritual basis for the vision I have seen. Was it the Holy Spirit that was really showing secrets of dark powers to me or it was it a demon that was showing me a movie?

The word of God reveals that it was inside such a pit, that Joseph brothers threw him in a bid to get rid of him. Let us read Genesis 37 vs. 23-26:

23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colors that was on him; 24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmaelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt. 26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?

Dakes Bible , it his commentary on this passage says the Hebrew word for a pit is’bor’, and describes a pit as: ‘ a dry cistern, There are numerous pits or cisterns still to be found in Palestine. They were often hewn out of solid rock, being narrower at the mouth than at the bottom. It would be almost impossible to get out of the pit unaided. Some were even used as dungeons for prisoners.’

What the spirit of God revealed in the dream fits perfectly into this description. Obviously what I saw was like the pit that Joseph was thrown into by his brothers.

Today, I pray that the Lord of Joseph shall frustrate evil conspiracy to throw you into the pit darkness in Jesus name

The story of Joseph sheds more powerful understanding on the nature of pits of darkness. Joseph was thrown into this pt so tat he would die inside. There was not way Joseph would have come out of this pit, if his brothers did not have a change of mind. He had to be drawn out from the pit, when his brother decided to sell him to the Isheemiltes.

Psalm 28 vs. 1
Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock, be not silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit

Zechariah 9 vs. 11
As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant, I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein there is not water. Turn you to the strongholds, ye prisoners of hope: even today, I declare I will render double unto thee

Several other issues are obvious from our reading of Genesis 37 vs. 23-26, Psalm 28 vs. 1, and Zechariah 9 vs. 11

1. The pit of life is a prison.
2. Anyone that is thrown into this pit, has been sentenced to death
3. It is physically impossible to come out of this pit.
4. If Joseph a righteous person could be thrown into such a pit, Christians can also be thrown into such pits.
5. The truth is that many non Christians and Christians have been spiritually imprisoned and are prisoners of powers of darkness
6. However, the Bible describes Christians in such pits are prisoners of hope
7. Only the blood of the covenant, the blood of Jesus can deliver any one from such pits of darkness
8. This means unless you are truly a Christian, there is not way you can be delivered from Jesus Christ came to deliver people from various pits of like, and if you believe in him, though you may be imprisoned in such a pit now, there is hope of deliverance for you
9. However, your deliverance is not automatic, as the Psalmist said, even if you as a Christian discover you life has been caged, you have to cry unto God to provoke his attention
10. Finally, when God delivers, he will give you double for all you have lost. Just as Joseph was promoted from prison to palace, you shall be promoted and magnified in Jesus name
Even today, I declare I will render double unto thee, -Zechariah 9 vs. 11

I am rounding up this message by calling on us to examine our life patterns. Check your marriage, check your bossiness, check your academics, check your ministry, and check your family. Ask yourself some basic questions:

1. Am I caged?
2. Am I imprisoned?
3. Why do I find it difficult to advance forward in life?
4. Why I have tried several success prescriptions with success?
5. Haven’t I run out of ideas on how I can succeed?
6. Is there any area of my life that I am experiencing suffocation and oppression?

Jesus is offering you hope out of any situation that seems irredeemable today. As you aggressively and violently say the prayers below, I am persuaded that the power of the blood of Jesus will deliver you from every pits of life and restore your glories with a double portion

1. My spirit man, jump out of every evil pit in Jesus name
2. My glory, come out of every evil pit in Jesus name
3. Angels of God, deliver me from the pit of darkness in Jesus name
4. Any power that has dug a pit for me, replace me there in Jesus name
5. Pits of darkness, dug for me, be covered with the blood of Jesus name
6. Any power drawing me into the pit of darkness, die in Jesus name
7. Evil conspiracy to throw me into any pit, back fire in Jesus name
