Qualities of Mordecai
- He was a great man – vs. 2, And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
- He was promoted not only by God, but the king also lifted him high.
- He became the vice president to King Ahshuerus. A gatekeeper became the vice president. A messenger became a vice president. This shows how God can divinely promote anyone.
- He was famous and popular among the Jews – vs.3, For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
- He was a nice man. He was a kind man; he sought the good of his brethren and his kinsman, and he helped them to become financially prosperous – vs.3
- He was a peacemaker. He ensured that his people, the Jews, were in peace and the enemy were not able to overcome them.
