Lessons from the Exodus of Israelites.
Exodus 1 vs. 6- 8: And Joseph died, and his brethren, and all that generation…Now there arose a new king over Egypt, which knew Joseph not
Joseph was the Hebrew slave boy that became a Prime Minister in Egypt through a divine arrangement. Most importantly, God gave him the gift of dream interpretation which led the Egypt to store enough foodstuffs for an oncoming seven years of famine.
It is a fact that if Joseph had not been in the land, the Egyptian nation would have been perished in famine.
Joseph later brought seventy members of his family to live with him in Egyptian, but over four hundred years later after the whole generation of Joseph had died and their memory forgotten, there arose a new King in Egypt that never knew the record of how God used Joseph to save the people, and the new King started to deal cruelly with the descendants o Joseph.
There is an important lesson here. If there were records of what Joseph had done for the Egyptian nation, would the new King have dealt cruelly with the descendants of Joseph? The Bible said the new King knew Joseph not, obviously because of the length of time and poor record-keeping in those days.
We must learn from this story. As many people who do good works must ensure their names are properly recorded and identified with the good works for posterity.
Ensure that you make good arrangements for your good memories to be kept alive. Make sure the records of your achievements are well recorded and well-kept.
We are in the computer age; there fore no one has an excuse. Ensure your name is written in gold where it should and in diamond where it should. Do this not only for your sake, but for the good sake of your descendants yet unborn.
Many years after you have died, future Kings and generations must know of you and able to access your good works.
