The reward of the wickedness of the wicked
1 Kings 22
- Ahab committed several wickednesses as a King.
- He murdered Naboth and took over his vineyard.
- Jezebel, his wife, stirred him to commit very lots of wickedness – 1 Kings 20 vs.25 And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so.
- Elijah prophesied that dogs would lick his blood the way the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, who was stoned to death based on false testimony of accusers proped up by Ahab and his wife Jezebel.
- The prophecy eventually came to pass. Ahab died on the warfront, and his blood was licked by dogs when his chariot was being washed in the pool of Samaria. – 1 Kings 22 vs.38And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according unto the word of the Lord which he spake.
