1. Ahab, King of Samaria, sinned by killing Naboth the Jezreel and taking over his vineyard.
2. God told Elijah to prophesy evil against the house of Ahab for this evil deed.
3. Ahab humbled himself in fasting when he heard the prophecy of Elijah.
4. God decided to postpone the evil he planned against the house of Ahab because of Ahab’s humility in fasting.
