Memorise: “And the light shineth in darkness: and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:5). Read: Judges 16:30-31 |
In Judges 16:30, Samson prayed that he should be allowed to die with the Philistines and God answered the prayer. We want to learn one or two lessons here. First, when the anointed of Cod backslides, the enemies are avenged and they will celebrate. It is only normal for them to do so. Has the enemy knocked you down? Are they celebrating your fall? Job 20:3 says its just for a moment. You will arise stronger and tougher than before in Jesus’ name. The light of Christ is very powerful and no enemy can stand before it. All your enemies including witches, wizards and agents of the marine kingdom remain powerless as long as you walk in the light. ![]() “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:5). Whenever light comes, any darkness there must flee. An important fact about darkness is that is does not die. It only runs to a distant point hoping you will leave the light one day and it will grab you again. This is why I am going to remain in the light of Jesus forever. If you have pitched your tent in Christ, there is no going back. Samson requested to die with his enemies because there is something worse than death. He knew that to taste God’s goodness and lose it is something he could not stand. Some of you know what it means to walk with God. The ability to clearly hear from God is something money cannot buy. If you lose that ability it is better to die. When I received Christ and became baptized in the Holy Spirit, I was able to hear regularly from God. On my way to church on Sundays, the Lord would tell me the one who will preach and what the sermon would be. So attending such a service after knowing what will happen before it does, was pure fun. He would tell me roads to take to avoid being trapped in traffic. One day I made a mistake and He cut off all those supernatural benefits and I lost the leading edge until things were corrected. Samson’s prayer limited God. He did not believe God could destroy the Philistines and yet save him hence he requested to die. Another limitation was that he could not believe God to restore his sight whereas, Luke 1:38 says there are no impossibilities with God. Never limit God. He can do beyond what you can ever ask. Have you fallen? Cry to the Lord and He will restore you and your latter end will be greater than your beginning. |
