Memorise: “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory and blessing” (Revelation 5:12). Read: Revelation 5:11 -13 |
| Let us briefly take a look at our God and then look at ourselves to determine who needs the other. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” Haggai 2:8 says God owns the silver and gold and every cattle. Psalm 50:10-12 says if God is hungry, He will not need to ask you for cattle, money, silver or gold because He owns the silver and gold you want to give to Him. He is simply saying, I do not need your money. He does not need your clothes because 1 Timothy 6:14-16 says He is clothed with light – the type that no mortal can approach. Psalm 18:10 says God does not need your car to travel because He will ride on the back of a cherub. Your car can break down but He has a car that cannot break down. He has fiery chariots and horses that are faster than the speed of light and sound. “Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?” (Isaiah 66:1). Here, God is saying Heaven is His throne so if He decides to use your house for House Fellowship, He is only doing you a favour. God requires your praises to bless you, not for Himself. ‘Which means that you are the one who needs to praise Him in order to obtain what you could not have. Infact, Nehemiah 9:5 says God is exalted above all blessing and praise. When I first saw this verse, it shook me. It means before you were created, He has been praising Himself. In Genesis 1, each time He created something, He looked at Himself and said, That is good.
This means that even before you began to speak, He has been praising Himself. Moreover, if He needs praise singers He already has them. Revelation 5:11-13 talks of the heavenly choir of all the billions of angels, the saints in glory which combined with the earthly choir comprising all saved human beings, animals and trees and all works of His creation. Together they form the greatest mass choir ever imagined. If you say as part of such a choir you are not going to sing His praise, nobody will notice. You won’t be missed. But if you play an active part in this choir, you are the one who will be blessed. |
