Genesis 14 vs. 20 –And blessed be the highest God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

1. The second major story is the story of the record of the first payment of tithe in the Bible.
2. Abraham gave tithes of all he had to Melchizedek, king of Salem, the high priest of the Lord.
3. The first lesson is that tithing is by revelation.

• Abraham gave a tithe outside the law because the law of tithing had not been established when Abraham gave the tithe.
• So, all the arguments that tithing is an Old Testament law are irrelevant because the first tither paid before the establishment of the tithe law.

4. The second lesson is that:

• Any man of God or messenger of God or Levite has the right to collect the tithe.
• Abraham gave a tithe to Melchizedek because he was the high priest.
