Matthew 19 vs 23
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
- Jesus did not say rich men would not enter the kingdom of God.
- Jesus Christ did not also say rich men will automatically enter the kingdom of God.
- Jesus Christ only said it would be hard for rich men to enter the kingdom of God.
- I did not know the meaning of this word until some years ago when I started to get some little amount in my bank account.

- I will not say I am rich, but I am not poor. I am on my way to riches in Jesus’ name.
- A few years ago, when I had my first million naira, occasionally, someone would ask me for ten thousand naira for a need and at times, I might not want to give the money, but on second thought, I know I have one million naira, and the person asked for just ten thousand naira. Although I have told the person I do not have, God knows I have.
- Then I will remember why God says it is difficult for rich men to enter the kingdom of God. Rich men may want to keep their money instead of helping those in need.
- In summary, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God if he does not use part of his riches to help the poor, needy, widow and stranger.
- You can not have millions in your account while people close to you are suffering, and you think you will enter Heaven when you die with those millions without using the money to help the needy.
- As a result of this realisation, after paying my tithe, at least ten percent of my income goes to the poor. I pray to do more in the future.
Prayer
- Money shall not be my god in Jesus’ name.
