1 Samuel 13 vs. 9 – And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
One of the reasons God rejected Saul as King was that Saul became arrogant, proud, and impatient.
God appointed Saul a King not a prophet, but when Saul became powerful as a King, he arrogated the duties of a Prophet to himself.
