Vengeance belongs to God

1 Samuel 24 vs. 12 – The Lord judge between me and thee, and the Lord avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.

1. Bible scholars recorded 21 attempts of Saul to kill David.
2. In one of those attempts, King Saul, with 3,000 soldiers, pursues David in the wilderness of Engedi.
3. Coincidentally, David came across Saul while he was sleeping in the cave; however, he restrained himself from hurting him. He only cut off the skirt of his robe.
4. David said in 1 Samuel 24:12 that he would never avenge himself on Saul, who was hunting his life.
5. We need to learn from this and learn how to leave vengeance and judgment to God.
