Psalm 49
James 3 vs. 8-13
King James Bible
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
- There is no man that does not have a tongue.
- The tongue serves a lot of purpose in our spirit life.
- It is with the tongue that we use to Praise God, pray and pronounce God’s word as contained in the Bible.
- It is also with the tongue that we use to say carnal things that may hinder our prayers
- One factor that will determine whether your prayers will be answer is what you say with your tongue.
- Several people cancel their prayers by saying negative things with their tongues after a prayer session.
- The Bible describes the tongue as unruly, evil, deadly, and poisonous.
- Today, you need to decide that what comes out of your tongue will be holy, spiritually edifying and righteous.
Prayers:
- 1. Coals of fire, touch my tongue in Jesus name
- My tongue, be sanctified in Jesus name
Hymn of the day
Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish—but naught changeth Thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
But of all Thy rich graces this grace, Lord, impart
Take the veil from our faces, the vile from our heart.
All laud we would render; O help us to see
’Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee,
And so let Thy glory, Almighty, impart,
Through Christ in His story, Thy Christ to the heart.
