Song of Solomon 3 KJV meaning
- Song of Solomon chapter 3 is about Solomon and his lover, and one lesson we can learn from this is that God want us to be conversing with Him in this same manner.
- In chapter 3:1, the bride lamented that she was looking for Solomon, her lover, at night but could not locate him. In that same way, God expects us to tarry in his presence, praying and talking to him not only during the day but also through midnight prayer.
- Just as Solomon’s lover, God is also lamenting that He could not find His children to talk to Him at night.
- In verse 3, the bride announced that she has found Solomon her lover, and she would not let him go until she had brought him to her mother’s house. We can draw an analogy from the story of Jacob in Bethel, where he struggled with God and said I will not let you go until you bless me.
- In the same manner that Solomon’s lover clung to him after she found him, God expect us to cling to him once we have found him. God expects us to talk to him, to be attached to him, love him with all our heart, and not to do anything that will displease him.
- Just as Solomon’s lover said she will not let him go, just as Jacob said he will not let the Angel go until he bless him, God expect us to wrestle spiritually in prayer, and refuse to leave his presence until he has answered us.
