- The life of every human being is full of trouble – vs.1
- Life is like a flower or shadow, that appears and disappears – vs.2, He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
- It is only God that knows the lifespan of man -vs.5, Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
