Faith cometh by hearing

2 Kings 22

Faith in God’s words comes by hearing.
Believing in God’s commandments comes by reading them.
Knowledge of God’s word comes by meditating on it.
Josiah, King of Judah, reintroduced the reading of God’s word after the Book of Law was found.
He found that the people had turned back from God’s words and rent his clothes – vs11. And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
God promised to bring him to his grave in peace because he humbled himself before God by seeking God’s way.
