1 Kings 16

1. He was the son of Ahijah, who became the King of Israel.
2. God promoted him from dust to palace, making him a king – vs.2 Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3. He followed the footsteps of King Jeroboam, committing the sin of idolatry.
4. He led Israel to sin against God.
5. God decreed poverty, penury, tragedy, and sorrow against Baashe and his household because of his acts of idolatry.
