God’s blessings are conditional

1 Kings 6 vs. 12 – Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

God reminded Solomon that he would inherit the Davidic blessings and covenants if he abided by the conditions of the blessings:

1. Walk in God’s laws
2. Judge based on God’s commandments
3. Keep God’s commandments.

God promised to keep his words and promises if Solomon could fulfil the conditions above
