Evil shall slay the wicked
1 Kings 2

- Every act of wickedness always ends in punishment, even on earth.
- Joab, the commander of David’s army, had murdered two officers, Abner and Amasa, in cold blood out of envy and in a bid to eliminate a potential competitor to his position.
- Many years later, David died, and his son Solomon ascended the throne.
- Joab committed an error by joining with Adonijah, a half-brother of Solomon who planned to inherit the throne without his father’s consent.
- Solomon, however, ascended the throne and commanded the execution of Joab for not only supporting Adonijah to seize the throne but also as judgment for the murder of Abner and Amasa, many years earlier.
