Consequences of sin of Adultery
Read 2 Samuel 12

- David committed adultery by sleeping with Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife and murdering her husband to cover up the sin.
- God sent Prophet Nathan to David to inform him of several consequences of his double sin – adultery and murder.
- The sword will not depart from your house. (vs 10 – Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.)
- I will become your enemy. I will raise evil against you from your own house – vs 10.
- I will take your eyes and give them to thy neighbour
- Your neighbour will sleep with your wife openly and publicly.
- All Israel will see you disgraced openly.
