Consequences of sin of Adultery

Read 2 Samuel 12

1. David committed adultery by sleeping with Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife and murdering her husband to cover up the sin.
2. God sent Prophet Nathan to David to inform him of several consequences of his double sin – adultery and murder.
3. The sword will not depart from your house. (vs 10 – Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.)
4. I will become your enemy. I will raise evil against you from your own house – vs 10.
5. I will take your eyes and give them to thy neighbour
6. Your neighbour will sleep with your wife openly and publicly.
7. All Israel will see you disgraced openly.
