| LIMITATION OF DREAMS |
|
Memorise: “For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words” (EccI. 5:3). Read: Ecclesiastes 5:3, 7 |
| As potent as dreams may be, they however have some limitations. You need a lot of care in handling them. Believers should not entirely trust in visions and dreams for some reasons. First, whatever you think about too much during the day might feature in your dream at night, hence this medium is subject to diverse vanities. Ecclesiastes 5:7 says: “For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God”. There are young people who are thinking about nothing other than a life partner. That is their waking and sleeping thought. They pray for nothing else. When they are eating, they will say, Father bless this food and show me my partner. Very soon, they will dream of going to the altar. Also, there are false dreamers who manipulate others through their so-called dreams. In Jeremiah 23:25, 32, God said such self-styled dreamers mislead others with their lies. If a brother tells you he dreamt and saw you getting married to his friend, beware. God will not lead you astray because He says if you follow Him, you will not walk in darkness. If you are a true child of God, He will speak to you Himself. Some Christians are carried away when an angel brings a message to them in a dream. They forget that 2 Corinthians 11:13-14 says we should be careful because some angels are of satanic origin. A particular man of God who was well established in the faith was visited by an ‘angel’. The ‘angel’ told him many things and finally asked him to worship him before leaving. The man of God was about to do so when the Holy Spirit restrained him. So he asked the ‘angel’ if Jesus has come in the flesh and the ‘angel’ asked him how relevant that question was to the subject under discussion. By the time the devil discovered that his tricks had been uncovered, he disappeared. Angels are servants of God, therefore our servants. No angel of God would accept worship. Any angel that demands or receives worship is a fallen angel – a demon. Beware! Check out your dreams today. |
