Bible Summary
Read Judges 2

- God instructed the Israelites to destroy all altars of Idolatry when they possessed the promised land – vs 2, And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
- God also instructed the items not to allocate with the inhabitants of the land – vs 2. And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
- The purpose of the warnings was to avoid spiritual contamination.
- The Israelites ignored this warning. In Judges 2:2, God lamented that the Israelites had not obeyed his voice.
- The people that Israel refused to destroy remain a snare to them till today.
- When God gives an instruction, ensure you implement it to its totality.
- Otherwise, your descendants will forever bear the punishment of your disobedience.
- The chapter also teaches us a lesson that we should teach our children the laws of God; otherwise, they will all forsake God after our death.
- The Bible says a new generation of Israelites arose who “knew not the Lord” – vs 10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. And forsook the Lord by following idols – vs 12 And they forsook the LordGod of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger
