| DEADLY LITTLE INSECTS |

| Samson went into ministry without preparation. He built his ministry on the flesh- a sandy foundation even though the Holy Spirit was upon him. He had the anointing but his spirit man was very lean. He was heavily anointed but he was propelled, guided and led by his flesh. The fruit of the Spirit was hardly seen in his life. In his diary, there was no mention of self-denial, brokenness, fear of God, obedience to parents and separation from the world and its lusts. One thing that characterised his life was self-will. He went for whatever he wanted irrespective of existing laws either by God or man. Today, many people will describe him as a go-getter, an achiever, one who knows what he wants. His tragic end however did not come as a surprise to his parents and other God-fearing Israelites. “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes” (Song of Solomon 2:15). There is no tree that cannot be brought down. While many are afraid and watching for the bulldozers, motor-saw, axes and cutlasses which can only operate from the external environment, they are insensitive to the more deadly internal ‘little’ foxes. Because they are ‘little,’ you don’t feel it each time they take a strand. Outwardly, everything seems aright. When you ‘shake’ your body after such an internal hit, you still feel the presence of the Holy Spirit so you conclude, all is well. But internally, the fellow is becoming rotten and ridden with worms. Eventually, the state inside will overtake the one outside. Are you in ministry and still telling little, harmless or white lies? Or you still masturbate deceiving yourself it is safe because when you indulge in it, you do not watch x-rated movies or use pornographic materials? Are you still stealing from the offerings as an usher or from the church funds as the treasurer or pastor? Do you still engage in falsification of receipts and accounts? Are you using the deliverance ministry to feed your fleshly lusts, unknown to any? Are you using your vantage leadership position to witchhunt or play church politics? These little insects are already destroying true spiritual virtues and stamina in you. If you do not act fast in repentance and crucifixion of your flesh, your spiritual decay and rottenness may soon be evident.
