| Memorise: “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders” (2 Thessalonians 2:9). Read: 2 Thessalonians 2:5-9 |
| Samson left the house of a harlot yet he was still able to uproot the gate of Gaza by the power of the Spirit. One of the lessons we learn here is that miracles are no proof of divine approval because not all miracles emanate from God. Certain ‘miracles’ emanate from Satan, hence 2 Thessalonians 2:9 talks of Satan and his lying wonders. In Egypt, when Moses dropped his rod and it turned into a snake, the Egyptian magicians did the same. Pharaoh laughed and told Moses, ‘What is special about that? After all, you must have learnt the trick before you ran from Egypt’. Satan actually performs magic not miracles, even though they may look alike. One is the original while the other is counterfeit. Satan and his agents can afflict people with sickness. By the time their victim goes to the witch doctor, he will take it away and substitute it with another. Satan has no wholesome cure, or blessing because all he does is to counterfeit what is good. The fact that someone is still performing miracle does not mean he is in right standing with God. But you may ask, “What about genuine miracles that are performed by the hands of genuine men of God?” We must not mistake the patience of God to mean approval. You may be toying with sin and it may appear God’s presence is still with you just because He is patient; but if you are not careful or you do not repent soon enough, His patient will run out. Some people have had to tell me, “You take Christianity too seriously. The way to Heaven is not as difficult as you preach. We know a pastor who does not talk about holiness the way you do. He keeps several girl friends yet miracles are still happening in his church.” Don’t be deceived. The way to Heaven is a narrow one. Many of us have started well and have sacrificed a lot to get to the point we are now There is no room for compromise. If you want the anointing of God upon your life, keep away from sin. Heaven is worth all the sacrifice you can muster. Do not take God’s patience for granted. Repent and walk right before God. |

Believers who receive ‘miracles’ from Satan become indebted to their new master. He will ask for his pound of flesh because of that fake benefit. Beware! |
