Memorise: “Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works;…” (Revelation 2:4-5a). Read: Deuteronomy 8:11-18 |
“Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence” (Psalm 91:3). One thing we must note about turning-points is that they can be provoked. They do not just come on their own. They are either projected by God, Satan or they are provoked by the recipient. Nebuchadnezzar may never have become a wild beast if he had not allowed pride to make him rival God.Have you caused a negative turning around upon yourself? Have you been ensnared in one of Satan’s traps? If only you can sincerely take the right steps, God who is all too-willing to help you, would certainly deliver you today. For the one in need of a good turning point, the first step to take is to acknowledge you have sinned, confess the sins, forsake them and invite Jesus Christ into your heart. If you are a backslider, return as a prodigal son into the loving arms of the Father as He has promised to welcome you back home. In Isaiah 43:25, He says, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” Make sure you are in a healthy relationship with God. “Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works…” (Revelation 2:4-5a). The next thing to do is to carefully examine your life and activities and trace it to the point where you missed God. What did you do before you started experiencing a negative turning-point? Was it when your prayer-life nose dived? Was it for eating your tithes? Was it when you started an extra-marital relationship? Was it because you deliberately sat on the salaries of employees? Find out what it is and immediately restitute. The next point according to today’s reading is to remember God always. Remember that all the blessings you have as well as all your past, and future accomplishments are possible through Him. Remembering Him therefore entails regularly giving Him the glory for all your successes and achievements; worshipping, praising and thanking Him for everything. Some ministers of God today have become God’s running mate. While God was just test running His anointing or financial blessings on their lives, they started to drag His glory with Him. Such people might have turned their first bus stop on a long journey of success into their final destination. Never take God for granted. A tree that forgets its roots will soon dry up. Live a life of gratitude daily. With this, you can be rest assured of an unending positive turning-point. |
