| Memorise: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Eccl 12:13 )

| Just like some men risked their lives to quench king David’s thirst in 2 Samuel 23:14-17, to satisfy the thirst of the King of kings, you have to be single-minded, focused and prepared to make sacrifices. In addition, you must be absolutely loyal. King David’s men could have said water is the same everywhere and therefore gone to fetch it from the nearest well, but they did not.
They went to the well at the gate of Bethlehem even when it was at the peril of their lives. Revelation 2:10 says, ‘Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer; behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried, and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life”. Total loyalty is expected of anyone who will truly satisfy Heaven’s requirements for last days’ assignments. These assignments mean a lot to God. If you cannot guarantee absolute loyalty to Him, Heaven will not find you useful. How loyal are you to the Lord? For your loyalty to be absolute, no alternative must take over your personal devotion to Christ: not television, not newspapers, and not any relationship with man or woman! Another quality of the one who will satisfy the King of kings is courage. The fellow must be a courageous and fearless person. Fearless people are dangerous people. Ecclesiastes 12:13 says we should fear God as this will enhance our ability to keep His commandments. Believers must not fear men, the devil or circumstances. We should only fear one Person – God. Psalm 2:11 says God should be served in fear. God should also be worshipped in fear (Ps 5:7). Proverbs 1:7 says wisdom starts from fearing God. While Proverbs 8:13 says the one who fears God will hate evil, the fearless will da mn the consequences of any evil deed done and continue to live in sin. The fearless leads a rebellious life that brings the fellow under God’s judgement. However, the courageous are people who in spite of their fears, go ahead and obey God’s Word. Some people never believe that somebody like me will be afraid once in a while. I do, but God gives me the courage to still obey Him. In trusting God, there is an element of fear. At such a time, fear exposes your weakness and makes you realize that you cannot do it without Him Are you fearless or courageous? The fearless dares God but the courageous fears to dare Him. If you refuse to obey God’s injunctions or you are still living in sin, you are not bold but fearless. |

| If you are so bold as to dare God and despise His Word, that is the height of foolishness. |
