Act 8 vs 18

And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money.

1. There was a man in Samaria called Simon, who the Bible describes as a witch and sorcerer.
2. When he saw that a lot of people were receiving the Holy Ghost after the Apostles were laying hands on church members, he offered money to Peter and John so that they could also give him the Holy Ghost.
3. He intended to commercialize the Holy Ghost because he also wanted to be laying hands on people.
4. Peter rebuked him and told him spiritual power can not be bought with money.
5. If you see any man of God in any church where spiritual power or things like anointing or handkerchiefs are being sold for spiritual power, you need to run away from there.
