Set your affections on heaven

Colossians 3 vs 1-2

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

² Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1. Affection is another name for love, desire, or likeness.
2. In simple terms, the Bible says, “set your love on things above”.
3. If you claim to be a believer, set your love in heaven.
4. As a believer, you cannot pursue the things of this world and make heaven.
5. Proverbs 10 vs 22 says The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Also, Proverbs 14 vs 12 says There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
6. Just set your affection on things above.
7. It is God who promotes and not by our strength or power
8. God himself promoted Joseph, David, and Samuel.
9. The blessings of the Lord make a man rich without adding sorrow unto it.
10. Do not set your affection on money. The love of money is the root of all evil.
11. You cannot pursue the desire of the world and make heaven.
12. Contentment with godliness is a great gain.

• Lord, help me to set my affections on the things of heaven in Jesus name.
