Bible study: Rest from Jesus

Matthew 11 vs. 28-30 – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

1. Jesus came to lighten yokes and take burdens away.
2. Some Christian ministries place additional yokes and burdens on their members, particularly through incessant calls for sacrificial givings.
3. The doctrine of the “more you give, the more you are blessed” has been widely abused.
