Judges 11 vs. 39 – And it came to pass at the end of two months that she returned unto her father, who did with her according to his vow which he had vowed: and she knew no man. And it was a custom in Israel,
- Jephtah made a vow to offer someone as a burnt offering.
- It was also written later that Jephtah fulfilled his vow.
- No where was it written that in fulfilling the vow, Jephtah killed his daughter as a burnt offering to God.
- If you read Judges 11 vs. 38 39 carefully, you will discover that Jephtah’s daughter was a virgin and the implication of offering her as a burnt offering was that she remained a virgin.
- Until she died, she knew no man (Judges 11 vs. 39)
- Jephtah did not kill her daughter but she offered her as a virgin forever to the Lord.
