“Men ought always to pray, and not to faint” -Luke 18 vs. 1
What is Prayer?
- Prayer stirs God to action.
- Prayer acknowledges the sovereignty of God over man and all the earth. Prayer reminds God of His promises to us.
- Prayer must be based on the word of God. This releases spiritual bullets and missiles against Satan our implacable enemy, foe and adversary. As we chant the words of God while praying, the plans of the evil one is neutralized and evils is waded off.
- Prayer releases a spiritual energy that catalysts our needs, requests, plans, and desires.
- Prayer connects us to the presence of God and draws His Shekinah on us.
- When we pray, we are simply making a telephone call to heaven. If we refuse to pray, we are merely telling God that we can help ourselves and overcome the world by our own strength. A Christian that refuses to pray is like a child that refuses to talk to His father, or a couple that seldom discuss or share thoughts The implication of this scenario is that father and child will be like strangers; they will not know each others needs, burdens and problems. On the part of the father, there will be a feeling that the child does not recognize him as a Dad.
