Matthew 24:29-the powers of the heavens will be shaken

Matthew 24:29

 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

There are several lessons that can be learnt from this passage.

1. The first lesson is that there are some powers in the heaven. The Bible refers to them in Ephesians chapter 6 vs 12 as ‘principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of the world, and spiritual wickedness in the high places’

Several years ago, when I looked up to the sky, the spirit of God opened my eyes for a split of a second and I saw the throne of Satan in the sky just above the earth. Few months later, when I travelled to Benin Republic In West African I noticed that the image on their national currency coin, bore exactly the image of  the throne of Satan I saw in the heaven. On inquiries I learnt that the people of the Republic of Benin are very deep into Satan  worship through vodooism and  witchcraft and it is not surprisingly that the image of their national currency is really the image of Satan.

Therefore the ‘principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of the world, and spiritual wickedness in the high places’ are real and have their thrones in the heavens above us, not the third heaven where God lives.

1. The second lesson, is thatches powers are anti Christ and oppose the will of God and that of his children. They are the kind of powers that stood against the prayer and fasting of Daniel for twenty one days before Angel Michael intervened on behalf of Daniel. See Daniel 10 vs 13. King James Bible–But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

1. These powers need to be shaken for the captives to be set free. When Angel Michael came to rescue Daniel from the captivity of the Prince of Persia, what really happened is that the Angel of the Lord shook off the stronghold of the powers over Daniel.

1. Only the power of God by the name of Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit can shake off the powers in the heavens from your life. See Luke 10 vs. 19 King James Bible–Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you

Acts 10:38-King James Version (KJV) ³⁸How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Today the assignment the Spirit of God is giving you is to shake off the powers in the heaven. The powers in the heavens that are stagnating your life needs to be shaken off, the powers in the heaven that are sponsoring poverty into your destiny needs to be shaken off, the powers in the heavens that are sponsoring failures into your marital plans or marriage needs to be shaken off, the powers of heavens that are sponsoring debts into your life needs to be shaken off.

In Daniel 10 vs 13 God sent an angel to deliver Daniel from the Prince of Persia.

In  Isaiah 37 vs. 36  an angel killed 185,000 enemies of God. In That night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.
All God needs to do to deliver from any bondages is to send an Angel. And the only condition for this divine deliverance is to surrender your life to God and live in holiness.

Pray like this if you want divine visitation today: Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I confess my sins, and plead for forgiveness by the power in the blood of the lamb. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I promise to go and sin no more. I accept the Holy Spirit into my Life. In Jesus name.

2. 2.      Powers in the Heaven limiting my achievements, shake off in Jesus name
3. 3.      Powers in the heaven sponsoring my failures fall down in Jesus name.
