Memorize: “by much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of he hands the house droppeth through” (Ecc10:18)
Read: Proverbs 10:25-27
Your attitude to work shows whether you are a sluggard or not. If you hate your work, you are a sluggard. But if you present place of work does not glorify God, seek counseling from your Pastor, take it up to God in prayer and quit. The Lord will give you one that will glorify His name.
By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness. God created your hands to be actively used in adding value to lives. He never made anyone’s hand to be idle.
Anyone who is very choosy about jobs or what to do, may actually be idle. If your hands are not profitable engaged, you are undoing yourself and destroying the purpose of your existence.
If you refuse to work for God gain fully employed but the devil. Any vacuum God does not fill you refuse to work for God, you will surely work for Satan.
“As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him” (Prov. 10:26). From this scripture, we see that the sluggard causes pain, are not reliable.
You can never depend on them to do anything well some ministers and pastors are not better. Any subordinate who is always causing pain to his superior is a sluggard. Anyone to whom you assign a task but you end up reassigning it to someone else or doing it yourself, is a sluggard. A sluggard is lazy and a great waster.
A sluggard is a polished or defined devourer. Today, some people can no longer be given assignments in church or in their secular work because they end up messing thing up. Are you a waster? How faithful are you over assignments delegated to you?
Do you take your work seriously? Or does your boss, leader, pastor always grieve each time he makes the mistake of sending you on errands? No sluggard is guaranteed of heaven. If you have any of the marks of a sluggard, repent and turn a new leaf today.
Be known for something good. Don’t give your leader smoky eyes!
