Obadiah 1 vs 17-But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions

1. A computer or biological virus can be latent, only to become active after a certain period. A computer virus can infect a system but remain in active for a long time. Suddenly it will activate itself, and destroy the computer programmes before the owner knows what is going on.

Spiritual viruses also operate the same way. A problem can be programmed into the life of an individual and timed to manifest at a certain period. That is why you find people in a family dying at a certain age, and calamities occurring when someone is about to achieve greatness. I pray that every satanic time bomb programmed into your life shall be detonated today in Jesus name!

1. Fact 5:  Viruses are weapons of mass destruction arising from their ability to cause devastating epidemics in human societies.Virus are mass killers, exterminating millions of people through the ages.

This need a very careful and detailed study. Biological viruses have sent millions to premature graves over the ages.

The Black Death was one of the deadliest pandemics in human history, peaking in Europe between 1347 and 1351. It is widely thought to have been caused by a bacterium named the Black Death and it is estimated to have killed 30% to 60% of Europe’s population. It may have reduced the world’s population from an estimated 450 million to between 350 and 375 million in 1400.

HIV infection in humans is now pandemic. As of January 2006, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) estimate that AIDS has killed more than 25 million people since it was first recognized on December 1, 1981. It is estimated that about 0.6 percent of the world’s population is infected with HIV

In 2005 alone, AIDS claimed an estimated 2.4–3.3 million lives, of which more than 570,000 were children. A third of these deaths are occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, retarding economic growth and increasing poverty According to current estimates, HIV is set to infect 90 million people in Africa, resulting in a minimum estimate of 18 million orphans

The 2009 West African meningitis outbreak is an epidemic of bacterial meningitis which has been occurring in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, and Nigeria since January 2009. A total of 13,516 people have been infected with meningitis, and 931 have died

What of our common malaria? You will be amazed at the statistics. Malaria is widespread in tropical and subtropical regions, including parts of the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Each year, there are approximately 350–500 million cases of malaria  killing between one and three million people, the majority of whom are young children in Sub-Saharan Africa

What understanding do these figures give us about spiritual viruses? It tells us that spiritual viruses are the greatest weapons and tools used by the enemy to frustrate the destiny of Christians, devastate Christian homes, to cause confusions in Christian ministries, and to extinguish the fire of revival in the church. There is no gain saying that spiritual viruses are the greatest enemies of the church, spiritual viruses are the leading cause of backsliding and foremost enemy of evangelism.

• When a spiritual virus enters a Christian homes it leads to spiritual lukewarmness, it quenches the fire of love, ignites in fighting, leading to separation and divorce.
• When a spiritual virus enters a Christian business, it results in poor work attitude by staff, wrong management decisions, low productivity, low profits, avoidable loses, stiff competition, and eventual close down of the company.
•  When a spiritual virus starts to operate in a church, members start to come to church late and at times do not come at all, workers become lackadaisical, the Pastors start to commit adultery with members of the choir, and prayer life of the church becomes almost nothing. Eventually, the church becomes stagnated, closes up, and the church is turned to a mosque as the church building is bought over by Muslims. What a tragedy!

1. Fact 6:  Some Biological viruses are stubborn, resilient, difficult to heal, and are generally resistant to broad range of available antibiotics such as penicillin, streptomycin and others. There are several computer viruses that cannot be cleaned or disinfected by many of the antivirus programmes in the market.

An interesting thing occurred on my newly purchased notebook recently. I installed a most recent version of a popular antivirus on the note book upon purchase, in the hope that that will protect me against all viruses.

Unfortunately, when the Notebook became infected with a virus few weeks ago, I discovered to my amazement that it was the antivirus programme itself that became infected. This became a serious problem. I have installed another powerful 2009 antivirus hoping that this will clean the infected antivirus, but this has not worked out. So when an anti virus programme becomes infected, what is the solution. When the deliverer becomes possessed with demons, what is the way out?

Some spiritual viruses also cause some stubborn problems that seem to resist prayers. It is very common to hear of people that have gone to various ministries in the hope of finding solution to a problem to no avail.

Today I pray that every stubborn problem in your life that has been resisting prayers shall encounter the blood of Jesus Christ.
