Curses in the Bible

God’s representatives can curse on God’s behalf. After the conquest of Jericho, Joshua placed a curse on the city. Joshua 6:26 says, “And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his first born, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.” The word ‘adjure’ in Hebrew is ‘shaba’, meaning to swear by repeating a declaration seven times; charge by an oath or to take an oath. Joshua purposed for the waste of the city to be monumental and lasting. This means that you can actually seal up your victory through a curse. Some churches were placed under a curse because of severe wrong doing to their pastors. No matter how hard the congregation prayed, forces invoked to supervise the curses continued to operate until the issue was addressed at the root.

The curse Joshua placed on Jericho was in effect after several years. In 1 Kings 16:34 during the days of King Ahab, Hiel the Bethelite attempted to rebuild it and lost his first born Abiram during the foundation and his youngest son Segub on setting up of the gates. Once a curse has been pronounced, it remains effective. Has your parish been under severe attacks from the satanic Kingdom? If God has given you victory you can seal it up over the forces of darknesses through a curse. You can say, Any agent of darkness that steps into this church henceforth shall confess at the gate. Any thief who comes to steal from this church shall be paralysed. You could use a curse to keep away unwanted elements from the gathering of God’s people.
