Bible commentary: Lessons from life of Job

In Chapter 30, Job lamented his present calamity.

Commentary

1. People are making a mockery of me -vs. 9, And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.
2. No one wants to associate with me -vs.10, They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.
3. I have no helper – vs.13, They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper
4. I know I would soon die -vs.23, For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.
5. Evil has come upon you -vs.26, When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.
6. Sickness has turned the colour of my skin to black -vs.30, My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.
7. My joy has been turned into mourning -vs.31, My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.
