Qualities of King Rehoboam

Read 2 Chronicles 10

1. Rehoboam was the son of Solomon, who succeeded him as king.
2. He ignored the plea of the Israelites that he should not oppress them and reduced the burden that his father, Solomon, had placed on their life.
3. He rejected the advice of the elders of Israel that He should be kind to the people of Israel.
4. He accepted the counsel of the young men who said he should put a heavy yoke on the people.
5. He spoke to the people roughly when they came to speak with him.
6. Unfortunately, because of these policies, Jeroboam led the people of Israel to rebel against him.
