The Character of God: God blesses anyone who blesses his children

Genesis 12 vs 3

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Genesis 39 vs 5

And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.

1. In Genesis 12:3, God says anyone who blesses Abraham will be blessed.
2. In Genesis 39:5, we saw that the great-grandchild of Abraham, Joseph, was well treated by his master, Potiphar.
3. The Bible also records that Potiphar’s household was blessed for Joseph’s sake.
4. One way of receiving divine blessing is to be a blessing to anyone you know who is a favoured child of God.
