Unforgivable Sins

1 Samuel 3 vs. 14 – And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

1. There are some sins that God forgives, but there are some sins God punishes the offender before He forgives.
2. While it is true that Jesus is the friend of sinners. If you commit some sins, he will punish you before forgiving, even if you repent.
3. In 1 Samuel 3:14, god says, he will not forgive the sin of the house of Eli, even if they make offerings to Him.
4. What were the sins of Hophni and Phinehas, the son of Eli?

• They were sleeping with women who came to worship God, thereby turning the house of God into a brothel. If you want to commit sexual sin, go and do it outside, not inside the church.
• They are cherypicking offeings. They left the offerings that were reserved for them and took the one meant for God. Thereby, they are diminishing the name of God.
