The Proverbs of King Ahab

1 Kings 20

One of the most notable proverbs in the Bible was said by King Ahab in 1 Kings 20 vs. 11: “Let not him that girdeth in his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off”

The proverb means;

The end is greater than the beginning.
It is not over until it is over
Pride leads before destruction.
Don’t count your chickens before they are hatched.
Experience is better than strength.
He who is yet to start a project should not boast like he who has completed the project.
Stay humble.
You are not sure of winning until you have won.
Success does not come by wishful thinking.
