God’s promise to David

Read 2 Samuel 7

God sent Prophet Nathan to David to remind him of all his promises and covenants to David.

1. I promoted you from a shepherd of sheep to ruler of a nation. (vs.9 – the evil alliance between Abner and Ishbosheth collapse and both of them were eventually gruesomely murdered.)
2. I was with you wherever you went.
3. I cut off and removed all your enemies.
4. I have made thy name great.
5. You will fulfil destiny and die in peace. (vs.12 – And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.)
6. I will give the kingdom for your descendants.’
