Memorise: “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach” (Mark 3:14). Read: Mark 3:13 -15 |
| “At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name unto this day” (Deuteronomy 10:9). 2 Timothy 2:15 enjoins you to study to be outstanding as God’s workman. From the passage above, there are three major duties a minister striving for excellence must perform: He must have communion with God, by spending quality time in His presence; He must carry the ark of the covenant of God – carrier of His presence; and He must release the blessings of His presence on the people of God. Levites were priests of the Most High God. 1 Peter 2:9 says if you have accepted Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord and Saviour you have entered into royal priesthood – that is you are now a royal priest. It is more so if you have been consecrated as a minister of God. Mark 3:14 says: “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach”. The first reason Jesus chose the 12 disciples was for them to spend time with God. No matter the pressure on you, all responsibilities are secondary to finding time with God. John 4:23-24 says God is in search of those who can worship Him in spirit and in truth. None of us can claim to fully understand God until we get to heaven. I have always wondered why God created several billions of angels who do nothing other than to cry, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. It appears praise and worship is to God, what air is to man. If there is no more water there will be no more fish. If there is no more air, there will be no more human beings. Since the day of their creation and for the rest of eternity, the angels cry, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty none stop. Inspite of their number, God is still in search of new recruits to join in praising and worshipping Him. Psalm 22:3 says God inhabits the praises of His people. It is almost frightening to say, If believers stop praising God, there will be nowhere for Him to inhabit. 2 Corinthians 6:16 says you are the temple of God and that He lives in you. Your praise and worship is what determines the room or rooms He is actually given to occupy in your heart. How much does God have inside of you? If you don’t praise and worship God, you have locked Him out of His abode. |
