Read 2 Samuel 1

1. David was large-hearted, forgiving, not vengeful, and loyal to his disloyal boss.
2. He did not rejoice when an Amalekite came to announce the death of King Saul in battle, rather he wailed, cried, mourned, and ordered the Amalekite who had lied that King Saul died in his hands to be killed.
3. King Saul was his greatest enemy who wanted him dead, but when King Saul eventually died in his own hands, David did not call a party, rather, Davide raised a lamentation producing one of his greatest ode in the Bible ‘How are the mighty fallen’ – vs 27 How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
