| COMMANDOS |
|
Memorise: “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less be loved” (2 Corinthians 12:15). Read: Esther 4:15 -16 |
Consecration means surrendering everything to Christ- intellect, time, strength, talent, connection, financial resources, etc. Philippians 1:21, says “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain”. I once watched an American film, ‘Commando’ and wanted to know how they keep fit. I observed that during their training, their heads are shaven to symbolize they no longer belong to their families but were the property of the Americans. They did whatever they were asked to without questions. The United States government would do anything to rescue any of them that was captured by the enemy because they were great assets to them. We too as believers could be so consecrated to God so that we can become a terror to the enemy’s camp. And God would not mind shaking the heaven and earth just because of us. After watching this film, it suddenly dawned on me that that was why an earthquake occurred when Paul and Silas were being rescued in Acts 16: 25-27. They were divine commandos. Then I understood why an angel was sent to rescue Peter in Acts 12:1-10. He was another divine commando. ![]() “And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him” (Luke 5:11). Commandos are people who are ready to pay the price nobody else would dare. They are ready to pay the utmost price for love of their Master. After finally getting his desired business breakthrough and they brought the boats to berth full of great fishes, Peter abandoned the blessings for the Giver of blessings. The three Hebrew children considered their lives and earthly accomplishments as unimportant compared to honouring God’s name. They chose to be roasted alive in Nebuchadnezzar’s fire than allow any earthly king ridicule their God. In 2 Corinthians 12:15, Paul said, “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved”. Are you ready like Paul to spend and be spent for the Master? Can you pay the utmost price like Queen Esther who was prepared to change the destiny of God’s people even at the cost of her life? Hers like the rest of them was the case of absolute surrender and consecration. Many of us who claim to have surrendered all have not surrendered anything. You can become another commando today Pay the price! |

Ask God for grace to be a divine commando. Ask Him to raise commandos in every RCCG parish so that we can take our communities for Christ. |
