Lessons from the temptation of Jesus
- Know the word. You need to feed on the word of God as you feed on food and drinks – Matthew 4 vs. 4 – But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
- Act with wisdom. Don’t act foolishly. Your decisions and lifestyles will determine your fate. Even Jesus was taken to safety when Herod wanted to kill him. Matthew 2 vs. 14-15; And Jesus departed from Nazareth in Galilee to Capernaum when He learnt of the arrest of John the Baptist – Matthew 4 vs. 13 – And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
- Christians should avoid idolatry, such as making covenant with Satan in return for status, wealth and positions – Matthew 4 vs. 10 – Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
